I got message from development that the issue will be fixed in 8.5.1.
To those who need a rapid workaround and cannot upgrade to 8.5.1:
The error is restricted to persons who made work space or replication page as homepage. So should place the workspace on their bookmarks bar and select the standard homepage (as long as they work with 8.5.0).
